My name is Gargi Awasthi, and I wear many hats in the world of education: Chemistry Professor, Subject Matter Expert, Academic Tutor, Academic Specialist, and Online IB Tutor. Over the past
nine years, I have had the privilege of teaching, mentoring, building academic teams, and even creating educational ventures in the growing Ed-tech space. My journey has not only been about teaching chemistry but also about shaping learning environments, developing content, mentoring thousands of students, and driving innovation in how education is delivered in India.
Skills & Professional Strengths
Over the years, my work has spanned multiple domains in the education and e-learning industry. I have been deeply involved in Ed-tech, entrepreneurship, start-ups, and business development, working at the intersection of teaching and innovation.
Alongside teaching, I have trained faculty, guided teacher training sessions, and developed content that is widely used across institutions. My roles have also involved academic leadership and team management, where I served as an Academic Head, guiding both students and educators.
I also have strong experience in product development, particularly in Ed-tech start-ups, where I combined my subject matter expertise with technology to create tools and platforms for better learning outcomes.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy writing and contributing as a policy analyst and columnist in the field of International Relations, reflecting my interdisciplinary interests. My ability to blend science education with broader analytical perspectives has given me a unique voice in both academics and policy writing.
I am fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati, which has helped me connect with a diverse set of students across India and beyond.
Professional Summary
I am a Chemistry Professor with 9 years of experience in the EdTech industry. In these nine years, I have taught students from school level to competitive exam aspirants and worked with start-ups to bring scalable learning solutions to young minds.
In my teaching career, I have mentored 3000+ students. Some of my proudest achievements include being the personal mentor to Yash Misra, recipient of the Pradhan Mantri Bal Shakti Puraskar 2020, and mentoring Sneha Das, who went on to join IIT Roorkee. Their success stories reflect the kind of dedication and personalized guidance I bring to every student I teach.
My philosophy is simple yet powerful: I believe learning should be “empowering, not informative.” For me, teaching is not about memorization but about building curiosity, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
In addition to teaching, I have successfully bootstrapped and built AI start-ups for Ed-tech, proving that my vision for education goes beyond the classroom. I believe in merging technology with pedagogy to create meaningful learning experiences.
I have also managed large teams for IB, IGCSE, Olympiad, NEET, IIT JEE, and Board exam preparation, which included teachers, content writers, and subject matter experts. Guiding these teams taught me how collaborative efforts can build stronger academic foundations for students.
When it comes to teaching strengths, my students describe my style as approachable and engaging. I specialize in transforming complex chemistry concepts into sessions that are interactive and memorable. I focus on designing personalised mentoring strategies because every student learns differently.
I have delivered online lectures in Chemistry for multiple competitive exams — IIT JEE, NEET, Olympiad, Foundation, Board exams, IJSO, and KVPY. Beyond these, I also take pride in teaching Science for UPSC CSE, UPSC CDS, SSC, and CUET, allowing me to work with learners across very different academic needs.
Employment History
My teaching journey has taken me through several institutions, each uniquely shaping my expertise.
At Nucleus Education (now part of Unacademy), I worked as a Chemistry professor, subject matter expert, academic head, academic specialist, and academic tutor. Here, I successfully led the chemistry department of the KVPY vertical in Kota, Rajasthan — a place known as the hub for competitive exam preparation in India. I developed study material and curriculum for Chemistry across exams such as IB, IGCSE, KVPY, NTSE, IJSO, Olympiad, IIT JEE, and NEET.
Later, I joined The Sage Tutorials, Kanpur, where I worked as a Lecturer, subject matter expert, academic head, academic online tutor, and Chemistry professor (September 2022 – Present). Here, I not only taught but also bootstrapped The Sage AI Learning and Foresage AI Labs Pvt Ltd. My focus was on creating educational content for UPSC (CSE), UPSC CDS, SSC, CUET, and Chemistry content for NTSE, Foundation, Olympiad, KVPY, NEET, IIT JEE, International Boards, IGCSE, and IB. This dual role — as a teacher and as a content developer — helped me expand my reach to a broader student base.
I am also the Founder of The Sage AI and The Phillsy AI project at Foresage AI Labs Pvt Ltd and The Cralgo (September 2022 – Present). While The Phillsy project explores the psychological reflection of students and individuals across age groups, The Sage AI is designed as a comprehensive AI search engine for STEM education and research publishing.
My teaching journey began earlier at CSA University, where I worked as a Teaching Assistant in Chemistry (May 2017 – September 2019). Those early years gave me first-hand experience of working closely with undergraduate students, developing lab sessions, and assisting with course instruction.
Extra-Curricular Work & Writing
In addition to classroom teaching, I remain active in academic writing and policy analysis. Since June 2024, I have been working as an Author and Columnist for Pulsul Geostrategic, Romania, and since May 2024, as a Policy Analyst for Geostrategic Pulse, Romania. Writing allows me to explore intersections of education, policy, and global affairs.
Final Note
Teaching chemistry has always been more than just a profession for me — it is a mission to empower students with knowledge, confidence, and curiosity. Whether it is preparing a student for a IGCSE, IB, Olympiad, mentoring for IIT JEE or NEET, or developing AI-driven tools for learning, my vision remains the same: to make education transformative.
Through my journey, I have seen students evolve from being hesitant learners to confident achievers, and being part of that transformation is what continues to inspire me every day.
