I’m Akshay Kumar, and I’ve been teaching Economics for a little over seven years now. At the moment, I work as an AS/A Level Economics teacher at Vasant Valley School in New Delhi.
Still, I’ve also taught at several Delhi University colleges like PGDAV, Aryabhatta, and the College of Vocational Studies.
Economics has been my thing since college—I did my B.A. (Hons) at Sri Venkateshwara College, then went on to get my Master’s from the Delhi School of Economics. Over the years, I’ve taught everything from micro and macro theory to stats, econometrics, and even A-Level mathematics. I’ve also worked with students from CBSE, IB, and IGCSE backgrounds, which keeps my teaching style flexible and adaptable.
A few years ago, I started my own platform, the Divine School of Economics & Mathematics, because I wanted to help students outside the classroom too. I enjoy breaking down tough concepts and seeing that “aha” moment when it finally clicks for someone.
Outside of teaching, I’m usually either playing badminton, practising yoga, or attending spiritual gatherings. I think those hobbies keep me grounded and patient—two things every teacher needs in good supply.
