I am Shreya Choudhary, an educator with over 12 years of teaching and tutoring experience, dedicated to helping young learners build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning.
Throughout my career, I have worked with children between the ages of 5 and 15, supporting them through important stages of their academic and personal development. Working with learners across different age groups has helped me understand that every child is unique. Each student learns differently, grows at a different pace, and deserves an environment where they feel valued, encouraged, and supported.
My goal is not simply to help children perform well academically. I strive to help them become confident learners who enjoy exploring new ideas, asking questions, and developing independence in their learning journey.
Building Strong Foundations in the Early Years
I have always believed that the early years of education play a crucial role in shaping a child’s future learning habits and confidence.
To strengthen my understanding of child development and early education, I completed a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECE) from IGNOU. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts degree and have completed British English training, which has enhanced my ability to support students in developing strong communication, reading, and language skills.
My training has helped me understand how young children learn, how their cognitive abilities develop, and how educators can create positive learning experiences that support both academic and emotional growth.
My Journey as an Educator
My professional teaching journey began in a preschool environment, where I gained valuable experience working with young learners through Montessori-inspired teaching approaches.
During my time at Vidya Sagar Preschool in Bengaluru, I focused on creating learning experiences that encouraged children to explore, discover, and learn through hands-on activities. This experience strengthened my belief that children learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process rather than simply receiving information.
Over the years, I transitioned into private tutoring, where I have worked closely with students from primary and middle school levels. This one-to-one teaching experience has allowed me to understand individual learning needs and provide personalized support that helps students thrive academically and emotionally.
Creating Lessons That Children Enjoy
One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is seeing children genuinely enjoy learning.
I work hard to make lessons interactive, engaging, and memorable by incorporating a variety of creative teaching methods.
My classes often include:
- Storytelling
- Educational games
- Visual learning tools
- Creative projects
- Interactive discussions
- Hands-on activities
- Rhymes and memory exercises
- Real-life examples
These methods help students stay engaged while improving understanding and retention.
I have found that when children enjoy learning, they become more motivated, confident, and willing to take on new challenges.
Supporting Academic Growth Across Subjects
I provide support across a range of primary and elementary subjects, helping students build strong foundations that will support future academic success.
My teaching areas include:
- Primary English
- Primary Mathematics
- Environmental Studies (EVS)
- General Science
- Social Studies
- Reading Skills
- Writing Skills
- Spoken English
- Grammar and Vocabulary
- Early Years Learning
- Montessori Activities
- Homework Support
Rather than focusing only on completing schoolwork, I help students understand concepts thoroughly so they can apply their learning independently and confidently.
Bringing International Learning Approaches into the Classroom
My teaching philosophy aligns closely with the learner-centered approach found in many international curricula.
I strongly believe in encouraging children to ask questions, investigate ideas, and actively participate in their learning. These principles are closely connected to the inquiry-based learning approach used in programmes such as the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
I focus on helping students develop important lifelong skills, including:
- Communication
- Creativity
- Critical thinking
- Collaboration
- Self-confidence
- Independent learning
These skills help children become successful learners not only in school but throughout their lives.
Helping Children Develop Confidence
Many students come to tutoring because they lack confidence in their abilities.
Some are hesitant to speak up in class. Others struggle with reading, writing, or keeping pace with their peers. I believe that confidence grows when children experience success in a supportive environment.
For this reason, I focus on creating lessons where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and expressing themselves freely.
I use positive reinforcement, patient guidance, and achievable learning goals to help students recognise their progress and develop confidence in their abilities.
Watching a child transform from a hesitant learner into a confident participant is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
Learning Beyond Textbooks
I believe education should support the whole child rather than focus exclusively on academics.
Alongside subject knowledge, I help students develop:
- Communication skills
- Social confidence
- Creativity
- Fine motor skills
- Listening skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- Independent thinking
For younger learners, I often include activities such as creative crafts, object-based learning, memory games, finger painting, and developmental exercises that support both learning and overall growth.
These experiences help children build important skills while making learning enjoyable and meaningful.
Working Together with Parents and Students
Successful learning happens when teachers, students, and parents work together.
I believe in maintaining open communication with families and providing regular feedback on student progress. This allows parents to understand their child’s strengths, identify areas for improvement, and celebrate achievements along the way.
My approach is always supportive rather than pressure-driven. Every child deserves encouragement, understanding, and guidance as they develop their skills and confidence.
My Role at My Tuition Hub Academy
As a Primary and Early Years Educator at My Tuition Hub Academy, I support young learners in building strong academic foundations while developing the confidence and curiosity needed for lifelong learning.
Whether I am helping a child improve reading skills, strengthen Mathematics concepts, develop spoken English, or gain confidence in the classroom, my aim remains the same: to create positive learning experiences that inspire growth and make education enjoyable.
I believe that when children feel supported, valued, and encouraged, they develop the confidence to explore their potential and achieve far more than they imagined possible.
