I am Krisha Choudhary, an educator with a deep passion for Humanities, Social Sciences, and international education. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with students across
different age groups, helping them develop confidence, curiosity, and the skills needed to become thoughtful and informed individuals.
For me, education is much more than acquiring knowledge. It is about helping students understand the world around them, question assumptions, explore different perspectives, and become responsible global citizens.
I believe that when students are encouraged to think independently and engage meaningfully with ideas, learning becomes both powerful and lasting.
My Journey in International Education
My professional journey has allowed me to work in a variety of educational roles, each of which has enriched my understanding of teaching and learning.
Currently, I serve at Choithram International, an IB World School, where I work as:
- IBMYP Facilitator
- IGCSE Global Perspectives Teacher
- IBDP History Teacher
- Individuals and Societies Facilitator
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I also contribute to school leadership as:
- School Innovation Council Coordinator
- Overall Assembly In-Charge
These roles have allowed me to work closely with students, teachers, and school communities while supporting both academic and personal development.
Working within international curricula has strengthened my belief that education should prepare students not only for examinations but also for the challenges and opportunities of an interconnected world.
Academic Foundations That Shape My Teaching
My academic background has given me a strong understanding of both subject knowledge and student development.
I hold:
- Master’s Degree in History
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
- Diploma in Child Psychology
- Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Administration
My studies in History developed my appreciation for evidence, inquiry, and multiple perspectives, while my training in education and child psychology helped me better understand how students learn, grow, and develop confidence.
These qualifications allow me to support learners academically while also recognizing their individual needs and learning styles.
Bringing History, Society, and Global Issues to Life
One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching Humanities is helping students see the relevance of what they learn.
History, Global Perspectives, and Individuals & Societies are not simply academic subjects. They help students understand human experiences, global challenges, cultural diversity, and the forces that shape our world.
In my classes, I encourage students to:
- Ask meaningful questions
- Examine evidence critically
- Explore different viewpoints
- Connect historical events to current issues
- Develop informed opinions
- Communicate their ideas effectively
I want students to move beyond memorizing facts and instead become thoughtful learners who can analyze, evaluate, and reflect.
Supporting Learners Across IB and Cambridge Programmes
A significant part of my teaching experience has been within the International Baccalaureate and Cambridge frameworks.
I currently support students in:
- IB MYP Individuals & Societies
- IBDP History
- IGCSE Global Perspectives
These programmes place a strong emphasis on inquiry, research, reflection, communication, and critical thinking.
My role is to help students navigate these expectations while developing the confidence and skills needed for academic success.
For IB students, I focus on:
- Conceptual understanding
- Inquiry-based learning
- International-mindedness
- Research skills
- Reflection and self-management
For IGCSE Global Perspectives students, I emphasize:
- Critical analysis
- Research and evaluation
- Collaboration
- Argument development
- Presentation skills
- Global awareness
These skills not only help students perform well academically but also prepare them for future learning and leadership opportunities.
Encouraging Independent Thinkers
One of my core beliefs is that students learn best when they actively participate in the learning process.
Rather than simply providing answers, I encourage learners to investigate, discuss, question, and discover ideas for themselves.
My classroom environment is built around:
- Open discussion
- Inquiry and exploration
- Respectful debate
- Collaborative learning
- Reflection and self-assessment
Students are encouraged to challenge ideas, support their arguments with evidence, and consider alternative perspectives.
This approach helps them become more confident, independent, and intellectually curious.
Learning Beyond the Textbook
I enjoy creating learning experiences that extend beyond traditional classroom instruction.
To make lessons engaging and relevant, I regularly incorporate:
- Current affairs
- Historical case studies
- Project-based learning
- Research investigations
- Presentations
- Collaborative activities
- Real-world problem solving
These experiences help students understand how academic concepts connect to everyday life and global issues.
They also allow students to develop important transferable skills that will benefit them far beyond school.
Developing Skills for the Future
In today’s world, students need much more than subject knowledge.
Throughout my lessons, I help students strengthen:
- Critical-thinking skills
- Research abilities
- Communication skills
- Collaboration
- Creativity
- Presentation confidence
- Analytical reasoning
- Independent learning habits
These competencies are central to both the IB Learner Profile and Cambridge learner attributes, and they play an important role in preparing students for future academic and professional success.
Creating a Supportive Learning Community
Every student deserves to feel valued, heard, and supported.
I work hard to create an inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas, asking questions, and expressing their opinions.
I recognize that every learner is different, and I adapt my teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual needs.
Regular feedback, discussions, projects, and reflection activities allow me to monitor progress and provide personalized guidance throughout the learning journey.
My Purpose as an Educator
As an educator, my mission is to help students become confident thinkers, effective communicators, and responsible global citizens.
Whether I am teaching IB History, MYP Individuals & Societies, or IGCSE Global Perspectives, I strive to create learning experiences that inspire curiosity, encourage independent thinking, and foster a deeper understanding of the world.
I want my students to leave my classroom not only with stronger academic skills but also with the confidence to ask questions, explore new ideas, and contribute thoughtfully to society.
For me, true education is about empowering students to think critically, act responsibly, and continue learning throughout their lives.
