I am Harshita Sharma, a Physics and Economics tutor at My Tuition Hub Academy with a strong academic background in the Cambridge curriculum. Having recently completed both Cambridge
IGCSE and Cambridge A Levels with outstanding results, I bring first-hand experience, subject expertise, and a clear understanding of what students need to succeed.
One of the biggest advantages I offer as a tutor is that I have recently walked the same academic path that many of my students are currently navigating. I understand the challenges of preparing for Cambridge examinations, balancing multiple subjects, managing exam pressure, and striving for top grades.
My goal is to help students build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and approach their studies with clarity and purpose.
The Academic Journey That Shaped My Teaching
My passion for Physics and Economics developed through years of studying the Cambridge curriculum and exploring how these subjects explain the world around us.
In my Cambridge IGCSE examinations, I achieved A* grades in:
- Physics (0625)
- Economics (0455)
I also achieved strong results in:
- Mathematics (0580)
- Additional Mathematics (0606)
I continued my academic journey through Cambridge A Levels, where I achieved:
- A* in Physics (9702)
- A* in Economics (9708)
- A in Mathematics (9709)
These experiences taught me not only the content of the subjects but also the study strategies, exam techniques, and mindset required to perform at a high level.
I am currently preparing to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Data Science, which continues to strengthen my analytical and quantitative skills.
Why I Enjoy Teaching Physics and Economics
Physics and Economics may seem very different, but both subjects require logical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to connect concepts with real-world situations.
What I enjoy most about teaching is helping students move from confusion to understanding.
Many students struggle because they try to memorize information without fully understanding it. I focus on helping learners understand the reasoning behind concepts so that they can apply their knowledge confidently in unfamiliar situations.
Whether I am teaching mechanics, electricity, market structures, or macroeconomics, my aim is always to make learning clear, structured, and meaningful.
Supporting Students Through the Cambridge Curriculum
I currently teach:
- Cambridge IGCSE Physics
- Cambridge IGCSE Economics
- Cambridge A Level Physics
- Cambridge A Level Economics
I also support students with:
- Foundation Mathematics
- Additional Mathematics concepts
- Science Olympiad preparation
- Academic enrichment programmes
My experience working with IGCSE Grade 9 and Grade 10 students has helped me understand the challenges students face during the transition to higher-level academic thinking.
I enjoy helping students build strong foundations early so they can approach future academic challenges with confidence.
What Happens in My Lessons
I believe effective learning happens when students actively participate rather than simply listen.
My lessons are designed to be interactive, engaging, and focused on student understanding.
A typical lesson may include:
- Concept explanation using simple language
- Real-world examples and applications
- Guided problem-solving
- Exam-style practice questions
- Discussion and questioning
- Immediate feedback and correction
I encourage students to ask questions freely and work through challenges step by step. Creating a comfortable learning environment is important because students learn best when they feel supported and confident.
Helping Students Master Examinations
As someone who recently completed Cambridge examinations successfully, I understand how important exam technique can be.
Success is not only about knowing the content. It is also about understanding how questions are structured, how marks are awarded, and how to manage time effectively during examinations.
I regularly help students with:
- Past paper practice
- Mark scheme analysis
- Question interpretation
- Time management strategies
- Structured answer writing
- Common examiner expectations
I share practical insights from my own experience to help students avoid common mistakes and improve their performance.
Making Online Learning Engaging and Effective
I am comfortable using a wide range of digital teaching tools to make online learning interactive and productive.
My lessons often incorporate:
- Interactive online whiteboards
- PowerPoint presentations
- Canva-based visual explanations
- Digital problem-solving activities
- Real-time collaboration tools
These resources help students visualize concepts, stay engaged, and participate actively throughout the lesson.
I believe technology should support understanding rather than simply deliver information.
Beyond the School Syllabus
Alongside curriculum-based learning, I have always enjoyed academic challenges and enrichment opportunities.
During my school years, I:
- Qualified twice for Level 2 of the International English Olympiad (IEO)
- Qualified once for Level 2 of the National Science Olympiad (NSO)
- Qualified twice for Level 2 of the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO)
- Appeared for the Homi Bhabha Examination in Grade 6
These experiences helped me develop problem-solving skills, discipline, and a deeper appreciation for learning beyond the classroom.
As a result, I enjoy supporting students who are interested in Olympiads, academic competitions, and enrichment programmes.
The Values That Guide My Teaching
I believe that successful teaching is built on three things:
- Clarity
- Consistency
- Encouragement
Students often perform their best when they feel supported rather than pressured. I focus on building confidence gradually while maintaining high academic expectations.
My teaching style is:
- Structured
- Patient
- Encouraging
- Exam-focused
- Student-centered
I work hard to ensure that students feel comfortable asking questions and taking ownership of their learning.
My Role at My Tuition Hub Academy
As a Physics and Economics Tutor at My Tuition Hub Academy, I support students pursuing Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge A Level studies.
I particularly enjoy helping students who want to strengthen their foundations, improve examination performance, and gain confidence in challenging subjects.
Having recently achieved top grades in the same curriculum, I understand both the academic demands and the practical realities of Cambridge learning. My aim is to provide students with clear explanations, effective strategies, and personalised guidance that help them achieve their goals while enjoying the learning process.
For me, tutoring is not simply about improving marks. It is about helping students develop the confidence, discipline, and understanding needed for long-term academic success.
