SL and HL students study the common core and three thematic studies. HL students also study the HL extension called Global Political Challenges.SL and HL students study a common core and three thematic studies. IB Pattern for IB Global Politics SL
External assessment: The external assessment for IB Global Politics SL consists of Paper 1 and Paper 2 based on the latest syllabus. Paper 1 is a source-based examination. It carries 35% of the final grade for SL students. Paper 2 is an essay paper. It carries 40% of the final grade for SL students.
Internal assessment: The Internal Assessment is the Political Engagement Project. Students complete a written report based on their political engagement. It carries 25% of the final grade for SL students.

External assessment: For HL students, Paper 1 carries 25%, Paper 2 carries 25%, and Paper 3 carries 30% of the final grade.
