    • Paper 1 lasts 1 hour 45 minutes and carries 50% of the final grade. Students answer one stimulus-based question on the core theme and one essay question on the optional theme.
    • Paper 2 lasts 1 hour and carries 25% of the final grade. It assesses the prescribed philosophical text. Students answer Part A and Part B questions.

    For HL

    • Paper 1 lasts 2 hours 30 minutes and carries 40% of the final grade. Students answer one stimulus-based question on the core theme and two essay questions on two optional themes.
    • In Paper 2, two questions come from prescribed philosophical texts, and you have to answer one question from both parts A and B. It has 20% weightage.
    • Paper 3 lasts 1 hour 15 minutes and carries 20% of the final grade. Students respond to an unseen philosophical text about a contemporary issue related to the HL extension topic.

    Optional themes: SL students study one optional theme. HL students study two optional themes. These themes are
